Mark Adams is Vice President and General Manager of BigCommerce EMEA. Since its UK launch in July 2018, the eCommerce platform’s international footprint has accelerated under Mark’s leadership. Responsible for European operations, Mark’s extensive expertise enables the team to maximise market leading services for customers and partners.
Currently used by 60,000 businesses in 120 countries, BigCommerce’s European customers include thousands of fast-growth companies as well as industry-leading companies and brands, including Sony, Withings, Steinhoff, Start-Rite Shoes, Loacker, Diageo and Carluccio’s.
Mark holds almost 15 years of eCommerce industry experience. Prior to his role at BigCommerce, Mark co-founded eComp, the IT and eCommerce consulting agency. Working with retailers, including Aldi, Halfords, and Andertons Music Co advising on their digital transformation. From 2005-2013, he ran eCommerce design and solution agency, Portaltech, which grew to be the top global agency for Oracle ATG and SAP hybris. Here, Mark headed up commercial relationships with partners and ran the business consulting and customer success teams. Mark also actively invests in retail technology start ups and sits on the board of digital receipts company yReceipts and is a board advisor to specialist marketplace, Open for Vintage.
